HOORAY! Morganville 5 ... delivered.
So. Because of some unavoidable delays, I wasn't able to seriously start on the last section of Morganville 5: Lord of Misrule until last Thursday. It's been a tough few days, but I turned in the manuscript on Monday afternoon, woo hoo!

Yesterday was consumed with reviewing final proofs for Weather Warden 7: Gale Force, and refreshing the synopsis for Morganville 6: Carpe Corpus.

I am taking a couple of luxurious vacation days before I start on rewrites for Outcast Season: Undone, and tackling a couple of smaller projects.

On to the better things.



Yep, it's my brand new Smart Car! We've affectionately named him the Blue Beetle -- half in honor of Harry Dresden's much-abused Volkswagen, and half because Cat's a golden-age comics aficionado ...


The interior:



I love, love, LOVE this car. It drives great, it's fun, it's roomy inside, and so far I've gone 215 miles on about half a tank of gas. I topped off the tank for $21 (premium gas, at that) just yesterday.

ROCK!



Now then. I'm going to go vegetate for a while. Ahhhhhhhh ....

Neat car. Wish there was a way they could make them that efficient and seat 3 (I have two kids that have to be hauled around)! But Harry'd short that baby out faster than Bob can pull a panty raid. :)

Wow - you have leaves on your trees, already? I'm more jealous of that than the car. I looked around after you announced getting one, and I decided to go with a Honda FIT, instead (just about the same color as yours, though). I like your car, just not the year wait. Mine is supposed to be at the dealership next week *yay*. I also think the Honda will be better at dealing with the amount of snow we get up here.

LOL! Harry Dresden would never FIT in this Blue Beetle!

When I first saw the Smart Car in Paris two years ago, my friend and I giggled at the image of these tiny little cars zipping around huge tractor-trailers on I-95.

OK, I gotta know. The stats on these cars say they can do a top speed of 140; that can be true now, can it? You have driven it, what do you think? Can she do it? How's the pick up for our short on-ramps here? I was thinking more of the Cadillac Provoc, but was disappointed in it's stats - top speed of only 100. Not saying I want to drag race my vehicle, but having the option of speed is a plus. I have had to get out of the way of one high speed chase so far this year.

So cute! I'd love one, but I a.) don't need a new car yet and 2.) am planning on having my next car through having children, so I was thinking more along the Honda Fit or Toyota Matrix size.

But I've wanted a Smart Car since I saw them in Europe a few years ago. So cute!
