FOR REVIEWERS ONLY
Okay -- I'm updating my list of reviewers. Official, established reviewers only, please -- you must have an established review website, or be a regular contributor to a print magazine. I mean, if it was up to me, I'd send out copies hither and yon to anybody who wanted to blog about it, but, er, I only have about 10 ARCs, and I need to be sure they go to official outlets.

So, reviewers: represent in the comments! :)

(If you aren't a reviewer, but want to recommend a site or magazine, let me know that too!)

-- Rachel

Tell you what, I'll put you on the list ... I can't promise, it depends on how many YA review sites need copies, but I'll try!

What counts as 'official' and 'established' in terms of a review website? Mine's been around for three months, but I've been linked to on some of the bigger ones. :)

Seriously, though, I know I don't qualify, but just in case you're bored:

Oh, heck I don't know what "official and established" means, either, it just means that I'd rather give away the official ARCs to sites that have a large enough readership to justify the investment. You know? It's not about whether or not I like the person or the website, it's really more about page views (or circulation). Mercenary, I know. I wish I could give out copies to everyone! ... wait.

I can. If I run out of ARCs, I can send you an electronic copy, would that work?

I would love an e-copy.

My readership is in the hundreds (I think), but it did take a big jump last week for no known reason.

Thank you so much!

I write reviews for The Parkersburg News' Sunday newspaper weekly and monthly reviews for Graffiti Magazine and do several blogs a month too on their websites of either extra reviews or guest bloggers.

My past columns are archived on this live journal, and you can check out the websites at

www.newsandsentinel.com - my columns run under my name under weekly columns
www.graffitiwv.com - my columns run under books.

Or check out the blogs and my name under both of those sites.

Somehow I suspect that being editor and publisher of The FenCon ION, the official newsletter of FenCon, does not give me sufficient street cred for The List. Oh, and that it only comes out three days a year and doesn't include book reviews. That probably hurts my chances, too.

There, there, my dear. :hugs: Not that I don't love the ION, but, ah, circulation is what I'm looking for.

But see me offline. ;)

Nice! Thank you very much -- that's good timing, as it happens, because the Morganville books are going to be released there soon through the British publisher Allison & Busby. I may ask them to coordinate getting advance copies out to her and some other British review sites.

Ooooh, that reminds me, I need to show you guys the awesome covers. Next post!

I don't know if my LJ alter-ego counts, ([info]riley_merrick), but I thought I'd offer her up just in case (she also runs a readers' discussion group).

Edited to add: I have done "official" reviews before, so the site's not just books I buy, but books I've been sent as well. If that helps. :-)

LT matches reviewers to books based on what they already own.

My husband and I have received 5 books since the program started. People who get the books are required to review them on LT.

I'm not sure how they "match" users to books to review (you apply for specific titles but there are like 300 people for every 20 books), but we seem to be a match on umm *cough* Sexuality/Health books.

I've been doing a blog site of reviews for 2.5 years now (and we did an interview a while back). I can't say I'm "established" as in writing for a magazine or newspaper anymore, but I've got a loyal reader base from around the country.

I'm the Editor of a magazine called The Witchtower which I run for a nonprofit organisation called Pagan Network (www.pagan-network.org) I can email you the PDF of our latest issue if you want to take a look at what we write. We have a book review section in the magazine and I'm a fan of your Weather Warden series, having discovered them 6 weeks ago and read the whole series so far (which resulted in many late nights, I even pulled a sick day from my day time paid job just because I couldn't put the book down!). So we'd be overjoyed to review any of your books.

I also run Pagan Network Ltd with another colleague and cover many jobs there as well as being editor of the magazine. If you want to contact me over at Pagan Network I go by the name of Twilightgirl or you can email me at witchtower@gmail.com or pagan.network@gmail.com or pn.committee@gmail.com
