ConDFW!
Dallas-area folks, don't forget that ConDFW is this weekend! Website ... Writer guest of honor: Peter S. Beagle ... and a ton of other great people, including Artist GoH Donato Giancola, and Special Guest Tom Monteleone.

I'll be there all weekend. Well, from about 3 pm Friday to 4 pm Sunday, to make it more precise, but you get the idea. It's going to be a fantastic show, so please drop in if you're in the area!

Meanwhile, I'm cranking away on UNDONE ... working this morning, as I will be working early each morning of the con.



I should be farther along, but I had one of those infamous brainstorms, and had to backtrack. So it'll be an exciting race to the finish, yet again. :sigh:

Going well, though. All in all, I'm cautiously pleased.

That's pretty much my news of the day. Here's hoping you guys are doing well out there!

Wish I could be there, but since Capricon was just last weekend, I'm pretty broke. Are you guys planning to be at WorldCon? (August 6-10 in Denver)

Sadly, probably not ... I really should be, but I pretty much decided to go for Dragon*Con instead. I'm being very careful of how many cons I do this year, it being Year One of my full time writing plan and all.

I may yet change my mind if some miraculous Money Fairy descends, but until then, probably it's a no.

I'm going to join QueenoftheSkies in complaining that all the cons are back east, but I am going to ComicCon this year in San Diego. For at least a day anyway.

So I wasn't sure whether this was the right place to comment or not... but I just finished Thin Air and totally *loved* it (ahhhh, Joanne. And David. And Lewis. And.... damn, can the 7th one be out here Down Under now, pretty please?)

Ultra special scene-love? The point where David pops back after having gone to Sedona because Lewis finally convinced him to (she says, trying desperately not to include anything spoilery for folks who haven't read it). The intensity of the emotion in that one short scene was just... mindblowing ;-)

One thing that made me smile though... towards the beginning of the bok when the Wardens are discussing how gone-to-hell everything is in the various continents, and they mention that in Australia and New Zealand, the weather can't work out what it's doing - that they have one day of Summer and the next it's Winter? My immediate response was "hell, in Auckland, that's just *normal*!" Seriously - we'll regularly literally get all four seasons in one day... the last two years, we've had hailstorms around Christmastime (which is theoretically blazing midsummer for us), and then in the middle of Winter, it's not unusual to have warm fronts rolling through that have folks wandering around in t-shirts when they were wearing triple layers the day before.

Of course... that could just be *proof* that the Wardens are messing with the weather balance ;-)

Just to let you know I love your book series, The Morganville Vampires, purchased the 3rd book from the stores already! Am hooked, heh. The arrivals are awfully slow in here though. Looking forward to your 4th book release in Singapore^^;
