Some days, it pays to get up.
Here's my morning so far:

1) Wake up and think, "Why the hell am I awake? I DON'T HAVE TO GO TO WORK! ... oh yeah. Writing."
2) Get up.
3) Turn on the shiny new Keurig one-cup coffee maker (first cup: hazelnut).
4) Brew coffee.
5) Shower.
6) Turn on cool new electric fireplace/heater because the turret is cold, yo.
7) Sit in comfy chair with blanket, lap desk, laptop.
8) Drink coffee.
9) Check emails and nag myself about how I'm already procrastinating.
10) Find this in my Myspace inbox:

[info]p_n_elrod and [info]macgyvergal will understand the palpitations. If you're a Stargate fan, seeing General Jack's picture in your inbox will give you a better rush than caffeine. I KNOW HE'S NOT REAL. Still.

Anyway, the long and short of this is that I'm going to be guest-blogging out at the Supergate later today (after I finish my word count, I swear!) to talk about my first Stargate novel (SACRIFICE MOON), what I'm planning to do this year, and answer questions.

Thank you, sir. :salutes: Reporting for duty!

... er, as soon as I get UNDONE moved along the dusty trail. HYAH!

It's really nice, but I'm sweating this deadline. Of course. So, that's not so nice, but ah well. I couldn't have a better setting in which to sweat.

Thanks for the good wishes!

You WILL send us a link to what you're doing there.

I'm so far out of things this is the VERY FIRST time I've heard of a blog thing called Supergate.

I want O'Neill in my mailbox...the extra-large delivery box in front of my house.

I will, ma'am. I'm getting that unpleasant stomach-churning desperation over this deadline, but that's normal as normal can be, so I shall ignore it and press on.

I'll check to see where your delivery is. Someone might have had to hand-search the contents.

If anyone is going to do some hand-searching that will be me.

Two-handed searching. Cool.

I registered on the site, but can't find the blog thing.

Lots of pics. O'Neill with a baby seal. :swoons at the cuteness of it all:

But the blogging is very nice at Supergate!

I understand perfectly! *__* LOL!

Also, I was just curious, but about how long does it take you to finish one of your Morganville Vampires novels? Just hammering it out and editing it until you have your own 'final' manuscript (so not counting editing time and whatnot on the editors'/publishers' end).

It's embarrassing to admit it, because I feel like I *shouldn't* write this fast, but it takes me about two months to write a Morganville novel if I'm working at a leisurely pace. If I'm in a hurry, about a month. That's possible, because the length of the books is about 70,000 words as opposed to the longer length for the Weather Warden and Outcast Season books, which are closer to 100,000.

That's awesome, though (not embarrassing)! You can pop out so many more novels each year that way, meaning more Rachel Caine for fans. *_* And all of this is doubly awesome because your stories are awesome! You're totally one of my author idols. ♥

Omggg!!! NOW I KNOW! And now I'm TOTALLY GOING! asldkjfsladkfj Do you know yet which day(s) you'll be there? Also, is there a limit on the things you'll sign? Because I totally want to bring all my Rachel Caine books-- especially the Morganville Vampires series! *_*

THIS IS SO COOL! No one ever comes to College Station, except now you're coming!

And yes, I'm still in College Station! I'm here majoring in English Literature. ^^;;

3) Turn on the shiny new Keurig one-cup coffee maker (first cup: hazelnut).

::makes note to research this::

I'm a 4 oz, one cup, Mokka stove top, morning coffee (hahahahah, espresso strength) person. But something I can turn on easily, then go shower before settling down with the laptop and one cup o' joe .... perfect for days I'm not yet ready to coordinate with a stove.

Thank you.

HA! Blanket in Texas in the February AM; it's so true and not what outlanders expect.

I loooooove my little coffee maker. It heats up and brews the cup in about 4 minutes. No mess to clean up, 'cause all you do is pop in a little sealed cup (like an oversized creamer cup) and then toss it when it's done brewing.

It requires no thought and no coordination, thank heaven.

Blanket is necessary in my upstairs turret at all times, 'cause the ghost keeps it cold.

YAY TER! :hugs:

It's true. I've got the screen credit to prove it, although I can't actually remember the name of the movie. There have been so many, with so many beautiful men (and women, but who's counting THEM?)

And he is better looking in person.
